Business Copy EVA/MA/EMA 2.x Job operation name and
use

WaitStorageVolumeNormalization
WaitStorageVolumesNormalization

NORMALIZE UNIT
Checks the state of a unit (virtual disk). When the state is
normal or unshared, BC executes the next step in the job.

MA/EMA arrays are not supported.

While the state is normalizing or unsharing, BC continues
to check the state.

Normalization applies to EVA and MA/EMA arrays.

WaitHostVolumeNormalization
WaitVolumeGroupNormalization

NORMALIZE VOLUME

Checks the states of units (virtual disks) that comprise a
volume. When all of the states are normal or unshared,
BC executes the next step in the job.

MA/EMA arrays are not supported.

While any one state is normalizing or unsharing, BC
continues to check the state. Normalization applies to EVA
arrays and MA/EMA arrays.

Pause

PAUSE
BC stops the job at the step containing the pause operation.
When a continue command is issued from the graphical
user interface, or from the BC command line interface
(EVMCL), BC restarts the job, beginning at the step after
the pause step.

Launch

RESUME
Executes the specified command, batch file, or script on a
given host. Resume is typically used to restart database
I/O that was halted by a suspend operation.

Use the job scheduling feature in the GUI. The feature
replaces the schedule command.

SCHEDULE
Creates a job event in the BC job scheduler.

None—Identification is handled automatically.

SET CA_SUBSYSTEM
Stores the name of an EVA array in a $BCV variable. This
identifies the storage system in Continuous Access
environment on which to select the source virtual disk and
create the snapshot or snapclone BCV.

SetDiskGroupForSnapclone

SET DISKGROUP
For a given job, specifies the disk group in which EVA
snapclones are created by BC when the job is run. Setting
the disk group for snapclones applies to EVA arrays only.

None—Not required

SET UNIT_BCV
Stores the name of a existing unit (virtual disk) in a $BCV
variable. The operation is required to mount a virtual disk
that already exists before the job is run.

None—Not required

SET VOLUME_BCV
Stores references to an existing host volume in a $BCV
variable. The operation is required to unmount a host
volume that already exists before the job is run.

SnapshotStorageVolume (demand_allocated)

SNAP UNIT {demand_allocated_hsv}
Creates a point-in-time copy of a virtual disk. The copy is
a demand allocated snapshot. Demand allocation applies
to EVA arrays only.

SnapshotStorageVolume (fully_allocated)
MA/EMA arrays are not supported.

SNAP UNIT {fully_allocated}
Creates a point-in-time copy of a unit (virtual disk). The
copy is a fully allocated snapshot. Full allocation applies
to EVA and MA/EMA arrays.

SnapcloneStorageVolume

SNAP UNIT {snapclone_hsv}
Creates a point-in-time copy of a virtual disk. The copy is
a snapclone. Snapclones apply to EVA arrays only.
