Job interacts with wrong array

Problem

When a job is run, storage commands are attempted on the wrong array. Typically, the job does
not validate properly or fails.

Explanation / resolution

If two storage arrays in a replication manager configuration have the same name, a job can
attempt to interact with the wrong array. Ensure that all arrays have unique names.

Job with host volume remount fails after an unclean unmount

Problem

A job with host volume remount fails and the replication manager logs the error message:

The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect for

the operating system associated with this mount point.

Explanation / resolution

If a host volume is uncleanly unmounted, such as during an unplanned failover, the host OS or file
system may retain information about the host volume. When the replication manager attempts to
remount that same volume, the host handles the request as a duplication and the remount fails. To
resolve this issue:

1.

Ensure that the host volume is cleanly unmounted.

2.

If necessary, clean up resources that were involved in the failed job.

3.

After the host volume is cleanly unmounted, you can use the replication manager to mount it.

Logical volumes and volume groups in job commands

Some command arguments require the selection or entry of a logical volume (a component of a
volume group). Because the replication manager considers logical volumes and volume groups to
be host volumes, you must select the resource from a host volumes list. There is not a separate list
of logical volumes or volume groups.

Low-level refresh returns an error

Problem

When you perform a low-level refresh on a virtual disk or DR group, the replication manager logs
the message:

Unable to complete the requested action because of an unexpected error.
