AUTO
Auto flash
The flash fires automatically in low light or
backlight conditions.

Red-eye reduction flash
This function allows you to reduce the red-
eye phenomenon.

Fill-in flash
The flash fires regardless of the light
conditions.

Flash off
The flash does not fire.

Slow synchronization/
Red-eye reduction flash
Combines slow synchronization with red-
eye reduction.

Remote Control
An Olympus Wireless RC Flash System
compatible flash is used for taking pictures.

Slave
The commercially-available slave flash that
is synchronized with the camera flash is
used for taking pictures. The flash intensity
setting can be adjusted.

Slow synchronization
Slow shutter speeds are used to brighten
dimly-lit backgrounds.

Cautions
• In [
!](Red-eye reduction flash), after the pre-flashes, it takes about 1 second before the
shutter is released. Do not move the camera until shooting is complete.

!](Red-eye reduction flash) may not work effectively under some shooting conditions.

AUTO, $ can be set in A mode.
Minimum Flash Range
The lens may cast shadows over objects close to the camera, causing vignetting, or
be too bright even at minimum output.
• To prevent photographs from being overexposed, select mode A or M and choose a
high f-number, or reduce ISO sensitivity.
