If stainless steel units are to be fitted in
areas where they may be subjected to
deliberate attack they should be recessed
below the surface of the wall. A cavity
should be constructed as shown. The
galvanised socket box should be fitted to
ensure that the box is totally secure. The
cable entry should be either rear or side

commissioning use conventional M3.5
countersunk fixing screws to secure the
plate. When it has been established that
the system is working correctly replace
these screws with security screws. A gap

filling epoxy cement should be used to
form a seal between the stainless steel
plate and the wall.

S0610 Mounting Spacer

Although Stainless steel units are generally intended
for flush fitting using the galvanised box provided
they can be surface mounted using the S0610 mock
stainless steel mounting spacer.
The galvanised box should be mounted in the
required position and the cable entries made. The
S0610 spacer is then placed over the box, the
relevant terminations made off and the plate screwed
down on to the box. The spacer is therefore gripped
between the wall and the plate.

Water Proof Mushroom headed push
buttons are available as latching twist
to reset in red and non-latching green.
Both are IP65 rated. They can be fitted
with a text label of your choice. Please
ensure units are properly sealed after
installation to ensure Ip65 rating is not
compromised and prevent water
ingress.

Dwg No. 60131 Iss 1 June 2011

With the exception of S1711WP and S1712WPG all items are dimensionally
compatible with single gang BS4662 fittings.

Switches and pushbuttons are designed for use on low voltage

systems AC or DC. NOT to be used on 240v mains. LEDs are fitted with current limit
resistors suitable for 12vdc operation. Higher voltage operation, typically 24vdc, is
available to special order and connection details are shown below.
Note: LEDs should only be powered from a DC source. If AC is to be used a small
diode typically 1N4001 should be connected in series.

All are supplied with a galvanised box for

flush mounting..
