Components
TC390 operations involve the XP12000/XP10000 (and/or other XP disk arrays) at the main and remote
sites, the physical communications paths between the main and remote disk arrays, and the XP Command
View Advanced Edition Software server or XP Remote Web Console. The main and remote disk arrays
must have the same controller emulation. TC390 copies the original online data at the main site to the
offline backup volumes at the remote site through the dedicated Fibre Channel remote copy connections.
The XP Command View Advanced Edition Software server or XP Remote Web Console hosts the TC390
software and provides a user-friendly Windows-based graphical user interface (GUI) for all TC390
functions and operations. The I/O time-stamping host software function, provided by MVS DFSMSdfp, is
required for TC390A consistency groups that span multiple disk arrays. Error reporting communications
(ERC) is required for effective disaster recovery with TC390.
