Batteries

can

explode

if

incorrectly

replaced.

Replace

only

with

the

same

or

equivalent

type

recommended

by

the

equipment

manufacturer.

Discard

used

batteries

according

to

manufacturer’s

instructions.

1.

Observe

all

safety

and

ESD

precautions

in

the

Safety

and

Warranty

Guide.

2.

Turn

off

all

peripheral

devices

connected

to

the

storage

system.

Turn

off

the

storage

system.

3.

Disconnect

the

AC

power

cord(s).

4.

Remove

the

enclosure

cover.

5.

Remove

the

processor

air

duct.

For

instructions,

see

“Removing

the

processor

air

duct”

on

page

8.

6.

Locate

the

CMOS

battery.

7.

Use

a

finger

to

pull

the

lever

away

from

the

top

of

the

battery

until

it

clears

the

battery.

Use

caution

so

you

do

not

bend

the

lever.

Lift

the

battery

from

the

socket.

8.

Dispose

of

the

battery

according

to

local

ordinance.

9.

Remove

the

new

battery

from

its

package.

10.

Being

careful

to

observe

the

correct

polarity,

insert

the

replacement

battery

into

the

battery

socket.

The

“+”

side

of

the

battery

must

face

the

lever

side

of

the

battery

socket,

toward

the

add-in

card

slots.

11.

Re-install

the

processor

air

duct.

12.

Re-install

the

enclosure

cover.

For

instructions,

“Installing

the

enclosure

cover”

7.

13.

Reconnect

all

peripheral

devices

and

the

AC

power

cord(s).
