Connecting the LEX to the REX

Surface Cabling

1.

Plug one end of the Cat 5 cable into the Link port (RJ45) on the LEX.

2.

Plug the other end of the Cat 5 cable into the Link port (RJ45) on the REX.

Premise Cabling

1.

Plug one end of a Cat 5 patch cord into the Link port (RJ45) on the LEX.

2.

Plug the other end of the patch cord into the Cat 5 information outlet near the host computer.

3.

Plug one end of a second Cat 5 patch cord into the Link port (RJ45) on the REX.

4.

Plug the other end of the second patch cord into the Cat 5 (RJ45) information outlet near the USB

device.

The information outlets at the LEX and REX must be directly connected to each other with Cat 5

cabling. There cannot be a switch or router in between the information outlets.

Connecting a USB Device

1.

On the host computer, install any software required to operate the USB device. If necessary, refer to the

documentation for the USB device(s).

2.

Connect the USB device(s) to the device port(s) on the REX.
