Gain Settings Level Table (for all speakers)

Note:

• When Variable is selected, output levels can be calibrated for the

analog audio output connectors. Variable output levels do not affect
the digital audio output connector.

• In some cases, variable output levels can sound quieter than fixed

output levels.

SETTING VARIABLE OUTPUT LEVELS

Use the Gain Setting Levels and Test Tone feature to calibrate vari-
able output levels for the front, center, surround and subwoofer
speakers.

Note:
RT-20 variable output levels should be configured when the RT-20 is
connected to an associated component such as the MC-8 or MC-4 Dig-
ital Controllers, which do not allow output levels to be calibrated for
multi-channel analog audio sources.

Before output level calibration begins:

You will need a Sound Pressure Level (SPL) meter to calibrate
variable output levels. An SPL meter is a device that measures
the relative loudness of each speaker to ensure accurate output
level calibration. SPL meters are available at Radio Shack.
