IMPORTANT:
Do not attempt to install detector guards until both the transmitter and receiver
have been perfectly aligned and tested. Lag shields are for use in concrete and
the mortar joints of block or brick walls. For wood installations drill pilot holes
13/64” diameter for lag screws only. Lag shields are not required for this type
of installation. Do not install guard on hollow backed drywall.
SERVICE
When servicing, remove the center lag screw on top of the guard then loosen
the other (5). The guard may now be slid upward and removed. Use caution
not to hit or bump the detectors or misalignment may occur.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. After alignment center the wire guard over existing System Sensor smoke
beam. Slots must have openings facing downward as shown.
2. Use the guard as template with the center mounting hole and (2) slots on
top (as shown). Position guard to allow projected beam to pass through
one of the 1 1/2 in. grid openings.
3. Mark and drill (6) 1/2 in. diameter holes 1 1/2 in. deep.
NOTE: If after installation, interference of the projected beam is passing to
close to one of the wire struts, the interfering strut may be cut and
removed without structural weakening or loss of warranty.
