8) Press the ‘alarm’ button once, the lower ‘single’ alarm symbol should light.

9) If the alarm hasn’t been set, then ‘-:--’ will be displayed. Otherwise, the current time it is set to will be dis-

played. If it is already at 3:05 AM, you can skip to step 15.

If you press the ‘mode’ button three times, the ‘Atomic’ Clock will display the time in Greenwich, England (‘Zulu’ time)

and the offset to the local time zone. In North America:

1) West Coast time is -8

2) Mountain time is -7

3) Central time is -6

4) East Coast time is -5

If you need to change the current setting for your time zone:

1) Press & hold the ‘mode’ button. The offset from ‘Zulu’ time will start flashing.

2) Use the ‘up’ and ‘down’ buttons to set the offset as needed.

3) Press the ‘alarm’ button to return to displaying the current time (you can also press the ‘mode’ button again

and manually set the date and time on the clock).

If you manually set the time on the ‘Atomic’ Clock (press & hold the ‘mode’ button), you have the option of setting the

time to display in twelve hour or twenty-four hour ‘military’ time. We usually set the ‘Atomic’ Clocks for the latter, because
the schedules are also set in twenty-four hour ‘military’ time.

Setting the date and time on the Sd-50/8 or Sd-50/40: You must manually set the date and time in the Sd-50/8 or Sd-

50/40 when it is first installed. This is because the signal from the ‘Atomic’ Clock only sets the hour and minutes. The
month day and year must be set manually through the serial port.

The serial cable for connecting the Sd-50/8 or Sd-50/40 is normally included as part of the ‘Atomic’ Clock ‘package’. If

you ordered the ‘Atomic’ Clock option separately as an upgrade, you may need to order the serial cable separately as well.
