2) !

MIDI channel

This is the MIDI instrument number used to access the Sd-50/8 or Sd-50/40 through the

MIDI in

port. Valid ad-

dress ranges are 00h through 0Fh (0 through 15 in decimal numbers).

3) !

MIDI 1st Note

Legal

MIDI in

notes are numbered from 00h through 7Fh (0 through 127 in decimal numbers). The only problem

is that if you are actually using a keyboard to access the Sd-50/8 or Sd-50/40, no keyboards actually have all 128
keys. A real piano only has 88. ‘Middle C’ is located at 3Ch (or 60 in decimal numbers) on all MIDI keyboards. You
can count the keys to the South and North of ‘Middle C’ to determine what numbers your keyboard will actually
generate.

Numbers below the value you set for the ‘MIDI Note Offset’ will be ignored. If you wanted to start accessing the

features of the Sd-50/8 or Sd-50/40 at ‘Middle C’, you would set this offset to 3Ch (or 60 in decimal numbers).

4) !

MCU Control Channel

This is the

Animation ‘Virtual’ Audio Trigger Input

channel which is set to the .Mp3/.wav player to select and

play SoundFiles, ramp audio to a level, stop and pause. Valid values are from 0 to 511. This is normally set to a
channel which is not used for any of the Show Control outputs, but it can be if this suits your application. The default
value for the

Animation ‘Virtual’ Audio Trigger Input

Channel is ‘1’ for a Sd-50/8 or ‘5’ for a Sd-50/40.

5) !

Left Level Control

If using audio control from the Show Control side of the Sd-50/xx, then this is the Show Control channel which

will control the left audio output level. Valid values are from 0 to 511. The default value for the Left Level Control
Channel is ‘2’ for a Sd-50/8 or ‘6’ for a Sd-50/40.

6) !

Right Level Control

If using audio control from the Show Control side of the Sd-50/xx, then this is the Show Control channel which

will control the right audio output level. Valid values are from 0 to 511. The default value for the Right Level Control
Channel is ‘3’ for a Sd-50/8 or ‘7’ for a Sd-50/40.

7) !

First Show Control Output Channel

This is the first channel of Show Control data which will be sent to the first Show Control Outputs. Valid values

are from 0 to 511. The default value for the First Show Control Output Channel is ‘0’ for a Sd-50/8 or Sd-50/40.

8) !

First ServoMotor Channel

This is the first channel of Show Control data which will be sent to the first Show Control Outputs. Valid values

are from 0 to 511. The default value for the First ServoMotor Control Channel is ‘2’ for a Sd-50/8 or ‘6’ for a Sd-50/
40
. These default addresses would overlap with the two volume control channels. If you are using both ServoMotor
PWM outputs and the RealTIme volume control through the animation data, you will need to move the addresses
used for one or the other.
