Table 11 describes the meaning of the status indicator LEDs for the switch for the internal network.

Description State LED Item
The switch is receiving power. On Power

The switch is not receiving power. Off
The normal state; indicates that there are no fault conditions on the switch. Off Fault (or-
ange) 2
On briefly after the switch is powered on or reset, at the beginning of switch self
test. If on for a prolonged time, the switch has a hardware failure, or has failed its
self test. On
Indicates the port is enabled and receiving a link indication from the connected

One of these conditions exists:
• no active network cable is connected to the port
• the port is not receiving link beat (RJ-45 ports)
Off
If the Act LED Mode Select indicator is lit, indicates that the port Mode LEDs are
displaying network activity information.
If the FDx LED Mode Select indicator is lit, indicates that the port Mode LEDs are
lit for ports that are in Full Duplex Mode.
If the 100 LED Mode Select indicator is lit, indicates that the port Mode LEDs are
lit for ports that are operating at 100 Mbps. On Mode

Tape drive problems
This section describes the corrective action for problems with the tape drives.
IMPORTANT:
On LTO4 and LTO5 tape drives, use only FC Port A to connect to the SAN.
