Engine Oil Pressure Warning Indicator Troubleshooting

Engine Oil Pressure
Warning Indicator

Repair engine
component.
Disconnect wire
16 (BLU) from oil
pressure switch and
verify that switch
contact is open.
Check engine for
oil pressure.
Check connections at oil
pressure switch and
instrument cluster.
Repair connections
as needed.
Disconnect oil pressure
switch at harness. Turn
ignition ON and check for
grounded circuit. If Indicator
light is still on, check wire 16
(BLU). Refer to pages 9.38,
9.39, 9.40, 9.41, 9.50, 9.51,
Engine oil pressure
warning indicator stays
ON while operating.
Replace instrument cluster.
Replace oil pressure
switch.
If OK
Not
OK

Before troubleshooting any
electrical circuit, ALWAYS
begin by checking the
following:
1. Fuses.
2. Battery for proper charge.
3. All connections relating to
circuit are clean and tight.
4. Check instrument cluster
bulb for proper function.
