5-3.3.1 Adding Modules to the Comms Link

To insert another module into the Comms link, make a looping connection through it as in Example

A of Figure 5-2 below. Alternatively, use a Innotech Repeater IR11 or IR12 to branch off to the new

module as in Example B of Figure 5-2.

Note that the four devices and Port 1 of the Repeater Module are connected in bus topology. Port 2 of

the Repeater Module and the added device form a separate network linked by the electronics within

the Repeater Module. Always maintain bus topology on the network when adding another module to

the network.

5-3.3.2 Linking Networks in Different Locations

When linking networks in different buildings, or when linking modules supplied from different

switchboards, isolation must be provided to eliminate earth loops.

To expand an REM network, use an Innotech Repeater IR11 as described below in section

5-3.3.3
