The receiver will not display
velocity on the screen, or the
Yield Monitor 2000 is not
receiving a velocity from the
GPS 2000/2100.
The NMEA VTG
message is not turned on.
•
Press the SETUP key until NMEA
MSG is above the F1 key.
•
Press F1 to access the NMEA
message screen.
•
Make sure that the VTG message
says ON next to it on the screen.
•
If it does not, press the F key
that is indicated on the screen
to turn it on.
•
Press enter to return to the
main screen.
The GPS 2000 will not stay
locked on a beacon and
switches erratically back and
forth erratically from one
beacon to another.
Either one or more of the
beacons has an unhealthy
or unmonitored status or
there is a large amount of
interference in the signal
from a certain beacon.
•
Press the SETUP key until BEAC
OPT is displayed above the F3
key.
•
Press F3. The screen should
change to the Beacon Options
screen. The user has three options:
•
Select Auto range (the default)
•
Auto power
•
Manual mode. Manual mode is
the best choice in this case if
the user has a beacon that he or
she knows is providing a good
signal.
•
Set the CH0 and CH1 IDs to two
different frequencies that the user
is confident are providing
acceptable signals.
•
Press the ENTER key. The display
returns to the startup screen and
within about one minute or less the
unit will lock on to the selected
frequency.
Near dusk the GPS 2000 loses
differential or switches
erratically from beacon to
beacon for about one-half
hour.
Changes in atmospheric
properties near dusk
affect signal quality and
can induce skipping of
signals that usually can
not be received.
Set the unit in manual mode on the
BEACON OPTIONS screen to help
keep the correction the user receives
more consistent. This is an operational
characteristic that can not be
eliminated.
