Set the same GARP timer values on all Layer 2-connected devices. If the GARP timers are set differently on Layer
2-connected devices, the GARP application will not operate successfully.
Example
The following example sets the leave timer for Ethernet port 1/e6 to 900 milliseconds.
gvrp vlan-creation-forbid
The gvrp vlan-creation-forbid Interface Configuration (Ethernet, port-channel) mode command disables
dynamic VLAN creation or modification. Use the no form of this command to enable dynamic VLAN creation or
modification.
Syntax
gvrp vlan-creation-forbid
no gvrp vlan-creation-forbid
Parameters
This command has no arguments or keywords.
Default Configuration
Dynamic VLAN creation or modification is enabled.
Command Mode
Interface Configuration (Ethernet, port-channel) mode
User Guidelines
This command forbids dynamic VLAN creation from the interface. The creation or modification of dynamic VLAN
registration entries as a result of the GVRP exchanges on an interface are restricted only to those VLANs for
which static VLAN registration exists.
Example
The following example disables dynamic VLAN creation on Ethernet port 1/e6.
gvrp registration-forbid
The gvrp registration-forbid Interface Configuration (Ethernet, port-channel) mode command
deregisters all dynamic VLANs on a port and prevents VLAN creation or registration on the port. Use the no form
of this command to allow dynamic registration of VLANs on a port.
