Ejecting SmartMedia

Cards

Make sure that the SmartMedia

card reader is not busy before ejecting. If you are

transferring files while your FotoShow

Image Center is connected to a TV, you should

see a dialog box on the TV screen that will show you when the transfer is complete.
When the copy completes, you can safely remove your SmartMedia card. If you are using
your FotoShow Image Center for portable downloads, make sure that the activity light is
off and status light is not blinking green before removing your digital film. To remove
the SmartMedia card, pull the card out of the card reader.

CAUTION!

To avoid damage to your SmartMedia

card, always remove the card when it

is not in use or before disconnecting or moving your FotoShow

Image Center.

Ejecting Memory Cards Without Power

To eject a SmartMedia

or CompactFlash

card during a power outage or when the

FotoShow

Image Center is turned off, disconnect the power supply from the FotoShow

Image Center and pull the card out of the card reader slot.

Using FotoShow

Zip

®

Disks on a Computer

You can read and write to your FotoShow

Zip

®

disk on any Macintosh

®

or Windows

®

PC

that has a Zip drive, or you can attach your FotoShow Image Center to your computer
and use it as an external Zip 250MB USB drive. You can use your Zip disk to transfer
files from your digital Camera to your computer for editing.

NOTE:

Your FotoShow

Image Center’s copy feature will allow you to copy any files that

you have stored on your SmartMedia

or CompactFlash

card to a Zip

®

disk; however,

you will only be able to view files that are in a JPEG format when your FotoShow Image
Center is hooked to a TV. A few digital cameras save their pictures in formats other than
JPEG. Please check the user’s manual that came with your digital camera for more
information on the file formats your camera uses to save your digital images.

Your FotoShow

Image Center can read only PC-formatted disks when hooked to your TV.

To use your FotoShow disk in a Macintosh, you will need to have Apple File Exchange
(part of Mac

®

OS 8.5 and higher) installed on your computer. When formatting a Zip

®

disk

for use with FotoShow on your Macintosh, always select DOS in the Format dialog box. If
the DOS format option does not appear in the standard Macintosh Erase Disk… dialog
box, use the Tools application that came with your FotoShow

Image Center.

Your FotoShow

Image Center may take several minutes to read your Zip

®

disk after you

have transferred files to it from your computer.
