Recording on 6 tracks
simultaneously (6TR REC mode)

This section explains how to use the 6TR REC mode which

allows up to six tracks to be recorded simultaneously.

How 6TR REC works

In 6TR REC mode, the signals from the INPUT 1 - 6 jacks

(or from the GUITAR/BASS INPUT 1 - 2 jacks) can be

recorded directly onto tracks 1 - 6. This is convenient to

record the performance of an entire band in a single session,

using separate tracks for an array of mics or other inputs.

In 6TR REC mode, inputs 1 - 6 and tracks 1 - 6 correspond

to each other. When the status key of a track is lit in red, the

signal of that input can be recorded on the track. When the

status key is out or lit in green, the signal from the respective

input is sent directly to a point immediately before the

[MASTER] fader.

• In 6TR REC mode, recording on tracks 7, 8, 9/10 and

master track is not possible. If you have recorded tracks 1

- 6 and you want to continue recording more than 2 tracks,

you must move the recorded audio data to tracks 7, 8, and

9/10 first (

p. 62).

• Also while 6TR REC mode is activated, you can use the in-

sert effect on any 2 channels. The send/return effects, the

punch-in/out functions , and the bounce function are not

available.

Assigning an input signal to a track

After adjusting the level of the signals from the INPUT 1 - 6

jacks or the GUITAR/BASS INPUT 1 - 2 jacks, the signals

are sent to tracks 1 - 6 in the recorder section.

1.

Verify that the instruments or microphones to be

recorded are connected to the INPUT 1 - 6 jacks or

GUITAR/BASS INPUT 1 - 2 jacks.

2.

Press the [6TRACK RECORDING] key in the input

section.

The key lights up and the MRS-1266 switches to 6TR REC

mode.

3.

Press the [ON/OFF] keys for the INPUT 1 - 6 jacks.

When pressed, a key lights up in red, and the corresponding

input is active. Up to six inputs can be selected simultaneously.

4.

While the instruments are played, adjust the

[INPUT] controls to obtain a suitable level.

The [PEAK] indicators should light occasionally when the

instrument plays at maximum volume.

5.

To use an insert effect, press the [INPUT SOURCE]

key in the effect section, and press the [ON/OFF]

key for the input to which you want to apply the

effect.

The respective [ON/OFF] key lights up in orange, and the

insert effect is applied. In 6TR REC mode, the last two

selected inputs can be effect-processed.
