Backing up the media database
Determining your SQL Server database version
In 2007, K2 Media Servers began shipping from the factory with SQL Server 2005
installed. Prior to that time, SQL Server 2000 was installed. If you are not sure which
version is on your K2 Media Server, use the following procedure.
1. On the K2 Media Server, open the Windows Control Panel.
2. Open
Add or Remove Programs
.
3. Locate the Microsoft SQL Server program and identify the version.
Back up SQL Server 2000 database
If the K2 Media Server has SQL Server 2000, use the following procedure to back up
the media database.
If you have a redundant K2 Storage System, backup up the database on the K2 Media
Server that is the primary media file system/database server.
1. From the K2 Media Server Windows desktop, open
Start | All Programs | Microsoft
SQL Server | Enterprise Manager
. Enterprise Manager opens.
2. In Enterprise Manager, expand the tree view as follows:
Microsoft SQL Servers | SQL Server Group | (local) | Databases | media
3. In the Enterprise Manager tree view, right-click the
media
node and select
All Tasks
| Backup Database
. The SQL Server Backup dialog box opens.
4. In the SQL Server Backup dialog box, select
Database – complete
and
Overwrite
