5.7.4 Attributes

The attributes include color, justification and flashing text. To set an attribute for a
whole frame, single line or character, highlight it and choose an attribute by clicking
on the appropriate button. Refer to Section 5.7.4.1 for flashing text, Section 5.7.4.2 for
color and Section 5.7.4.3 for line justification.

Note: If a message has multiple frames, the attributes must be selected for each

frame.

5.7.4.1 Flashing Text

Text can be set to flash by clicking on the [

FLASH

]

button or by pressing <

CTRL

><

F

>. It will change any

highlighted text’s attribute to flash (including a single letter in a word). This
attribute shows up as a gray background. To turn off the flash, highlight the
text and click on the [

NORMAL

] button or press <

CTRL

><

H

>.

The rate of the flash can be set by increasing or decreasing the number in the
Flash Rate field (near the bottom of the window). Increasing the number will
slow down the rate while decreasing the number will cause the text to flash
faster.

5.7.4.2 Color

There are three colors to choose from for a tricolor sign: red, green and amber.
Colors can be applied to the whole frame, a single row or column, multiple
rows or columns and to individual letters. If the sign type is monochrome, the
color buttons will not appear.

Colors can be selected by clicking on one of the colored boxes at the top of the
screen or by pressing <

> for amber.

Note: If the message is tricolor, the color of the current cell is displayed at

the bottom of the screen in the color box.

5.7.4.3 Line Justification

Lines of text can be centered, left justified or right justified. To justify a line,
place the cursor anywhere on the desired line and click on the justification
button (the default justification is center).

Justification can also be selected with the keyboard by pressing <
