7.2.16 Set Temperature Offset
Available only in signs manufactured after December 10, 1997.
Set Temperature Offset provides a means to calibrate temperature measurement. The
offset adds or subtracts a specified value from the temperature measured by the
temperature sensor and displays the adjusted value on the sign. The offset is measured
in degrees Fahrenheit.
m
Note: This command is only useful if the sign is equipped with the optional
temperature sensor.
Notice the picture included in Section 7.2.1. The Temperature: entry appearing in the
Received Sign Status window indicates the temperature appearing on the sign, as well
as the specified temperature offset.
For that example, the true temperature measurement read by the sensor is 76
bF. Due to
the offset of -7
bF, the temperature appearing on the sign is 69bF. (69 bF > -7bF [or
69
bF + 7bF] = 76bF)
If an offset of +7
bF was used instead and the sign is displaying 69 bF, then the actual
temperature reading by the sensor is (69
bF > 7bF = ) 62bF.
