Data Backup

We recommend saving newly written programs and files on a PC at

regular intervals.
The TNCremo data transmission freeware from HEIDENHAIN is a

simple and convenient method for backing up data stored on the

TNC.
You additionally need a data medium on which all machine-

specific data, such as the PLC program, machine parameters,

etc., are stored. Ask your machine manufacturer for assistance, if

necessary.

Saving the contents of the internal memory can take

up to several hours. In this case, it is a good idea to

save the data outside of work hours, e.g. during the

night.
Take the time occasionally to delete any unneeded

files so that the TNC always has enough memory

space for system files (such as the tool table).

Depending on operating conditions (e.g. vibration

load), hard disks generally have a higher failure rate

after three to five years of service. HEIDENHAIN

therefore recommends having the hard disk

inspected after three to five years.
