TIM (timing) allows the pattern start to be delayed for the pattern assigned to the keymap
range. It has the same function as the timing parameter found in the MULTI TRIG menu
(see “MULTI TRIG” on page 41).

On the SFX-6 you can enter multi map mode by pressing [MULTI TRIG] while hold-
ing [FUNCTION]. The multi map mode is indicated by the <MULTI TRIG> LED flash-
ing. The keyboard now trigs patterns as set up in the MULTI MAP EDIT menu.
MECHANICAL SETTINGS
If you have a MKII unit you can select the resolution of the encoders.

Select the CONTROL row in the GLOBAL EDIT menu. Then select MECH SETTINGS
and press [ENTER/YES].
KNOB RESOLUTION specifies the resolution of the Monomachine encoders. The default
resolution setting is 24. Turning an encoder one revolution will cover 24 parameter steps. If
you increase the resolution to 32, turning an encoder one revolution will cover 32 parame-
ter steps.
VELOCITY CURVE changes the responsivity of the SFX-6 keyboard. There are three set-
tings.
•
LINEAR is the default setting. The harder you press, the higher the velocity value.
•
SOFT applies a logarithmic curve to the velocity response. This means you won’t have
to press the keys especially hard to obtain high velocity values.
•
FIXED allows you to set a fixed velocity. The velocity will always be the same, no matter
how hard you press the keys.
FIXED VELOCITY sets the velocity value when VELOCITY CURVE is set to FIXED.
JOYSTICK MAPPING offers two settings.
•
TIGHT is the default setting. Not all parameter value combinations can be reached.
•
FULL makes it possible to reach the all parameter value combinations.
The illustration below exemplifies the relation of joystick position and parameter values.
The white area in both illustrations represent the accessible parameter space. The gray
area in the illustration of the TIGHT setting represents unaccessible parameter space. The
