If a scene, either a Preset Master or a Cue Stack step, is recorded with the
chaser running, the scene will play back with the same chase. So, simply turn
on the chase you wish to see as you record the scene.

Scenes that have already been recorded can have a chase attached later. For
our example, let’s attach chase 2 to Cue Stack scene 12.

While in Run mode, press the Stack menu button below the display. Turn the
data wheel to the right until you see:

Now 0 Chase
Nxt 1 0

This indicated that no chase is attached currently to the scene. Place the
cursor under the digit 0, and turn the data wheel while holding down the
Modify button. Two clicks to the right will display the digit 2 as the chase
attached. Release the Modify button and the chase has been attached.

The method for attaching a chase to a Preset Master is identical, except you
begin by pressing the Preset menu button. The display might look like this:

Pg Pre Chase
10 12 0

Again, use the data wheel to set the desired chase number for the preset.

No matter where the chases are attached, Presets or Stack Cues, the chase
pattern switch must be set to the Auto position before the chases can be
started. This knob setting allows the LP1600 to turn any chase on or off as
scenes are advanced. No attached chases can run without the pattern switch
set to Auto!

7. Disk Transfers

The standard model LP-1600 has the capability of “remembering” a single show
when power is removed, by virtue of it’s battery backed SRAM. CUE Plus
models can save and retrieve a virtually unlimited number of shows through
the use of the 3 ½” floppy drive, accessible at the back of the unit. Any
formatted diskette can be used for show storage. Shows take anywhere from 16
Kbytes up to about 160 Kbytes per show, depending on show complexity and
how many entities (presets, chase steps, and cues) are empty.

Shows are portable between LP-1600’s of different sizes. For instance, shows
saved on an LP1624/48 can be loaded and played back correctly on an
