Vivo! Touch User Guide

Caution: Only print full-bleed on a die-cut label construction that contains the matrix left in
place on the material, as printing on the liner can damage the printer.

In cases where the label design requires complete coverage, care must be taken to ensure that no
printing can occur off the label. This generally requires the label construction to be wide enough
to account for the full label plus the maximum possible skew and drift.

Labels must be designed to ensure that no attempt is made to print on exposed backing. Toner
will not adhere to this material. Attempts to print on backing will result in loose toner within
the printer that will cause multiple problems.

The maximum width of images printed on label media with an adhesive backing is 8.1 inches.
This is based on a maximum label face width of 8.3 inches and a safety zone of 0.2 inch
(approximately 5 mm) to account for media wander.

The Vivo! Touch can print on virtually any shape of die-cut label, with a slightly
different file setup, and a special label construction that QuickLabel Systems will
supply to you.

Full-Bleed Label Guidelines

Use the following guidelines when setting up a file for a full-bleed label.

Set up the label in the RGB color mode, at a resolution of 600 dpi.

The height and width of the label file “canvas” should be .25” (.63 cm) larger than
the height and width of the physical label. This size will allow a bleed on all sides
of the label (onto the matrix) while accommodating the printer’s minimal .08” (2
mm) label wander.

Design elements that will run to the edge of the label are the parts of the design
that will “bleed” across the edge. Your bleed will most commonly be a solid color,
pattern, or gradient background running off the edge of the label.
