When using SMS Handler to open a connection to a predefined remote
server:

1.

Add a Virtual Com port to the setup with the configuration option
Active connection with any character and set the target server
information for it from the Virtual port hosts dialog.

2.

Open SMS Handler configuration. In the Configuration items list,
select one of the following variables: conn1, conn2, or conn3.
Select the newly created VCOM as Send to target.

When SMS-triggered connection needs to be opened, send an SMS
with the following content:

open connX

where connX is the name of the output variable associated to
VCOM in step 2. For example, to open a connection using VCOM
associated to variable conn2, send:

open conn2

. There are also additional variables visible, but they are not useful

for normal application purposes.
